COLOMBO (News 1st):- The Department of Examinations states that despite the strike action launched by the teachers and principal trade unions that the paper marking process of the G.C.E. Advanced Level Examinations is being carried out smoothly.
The Commissioner General of Examinations, Sanath B. Pujitha says that however certain teachers who were engaged in this strike action had not participated for paper marking. The third phase of the G.C.E. Advanced Level Examination paper marking will last till the 30th of this month after which the Common General Test papers are due to be assessed.
The commissioner added that the practicals of the G.C.E. Advanced Level which is currently ongoing is also unaffected by the teachers’ trade union action.
