Colombo (News 1st): The interim order issued by the Court of Appeal on July 31st preventing the transportation of imported waste to other parts of the country, was extended to October 21st. The order was made by Court of Appeal President Justice Yasantha Kodagoda and Justice Arjuna Obeyesekera.

The Government Analyst was ordered to obtain samples from all freight containers with imported waste currently held at the Colombo Port premises and the Katunayake Investment Promotion Zone and prepare a report. The interim order issued by the Court of Appeal prevents the re-exporting of the waste without a court order. The case was postponed to October 21st.
