We are not helpless, we deserve recognition : Dayasiri Jayasekara

COLOMBO (News 1st) - General Secretary of the Sri Lanka Freedom Party Dayasiri Jayasekara stated that they will not form an alliance with those who will not uphold the dignity of their party at a media briefing in Kurunegala today (September 18). Dayasiri Jayasekera noted that they convened the District Bala Mandala today and all who were present including, pradeshiya sabha members, electoral organizers and district organizers have accepted their symbol for the alliance as anything other than the flower bud. MP stated that they have made a number of sacrifices to make the alliance work and if the SLPP is not prepared at least to make this compromise, SLFP does not need this alliance. He went on to note that they want the respect they deserve and they are not in a helpless position to comply with all of the SLPPs conditions. He added that this was the reason they have issues with him and he does not care about them. He continued to state that they needed the recognition they deserve and respect towards their policies if they are to form an alliance. He finally added that they have other alternatives if the alliance does not conclude in a favourable manner.
