National Transport Services Union strike enters day 3

Colombo (News 1st): The Sri Lanka Independent National Transport Services Union continued their strike action for the third continuous day today (September 18). Bus employees from around 75 depots took part in the strike action.

The Union is protesting to highlight a number of demands including, the payment of an allowance of Rs 25,000 that is being paid to other state sector employees.

At present, all drivers, conductors and technical officers at the Polonnaruwa depot have removed themselves from service to engage in the strike
