Karu Jayasuriya should not get caught in PM's games : Chairman of Gajasawi Samawadi Front

Colombo (News 1st) The Gajasavi Samawadi Front expressed the following views during a media briefing held today (September 18), about Karu Jayasuriya's statement on his plans to contest the upcoming presidential election. Chairman of Gajasawi Samawadi Front, Amila Ruwan Amarasinghe reasoned that Karu Jayasuriya has betrayed the party and its supporters during numerous occasions. He referred to the past when Karu Jayasuriya broke away with 17 people strengthening the Rajapaksa regime. He brought up another occasion where the party supporters who had been fighting for something were betrayed by Karu Jayasuriya. He further referred to Karu Jayasuriya as a person who has betrayed the party and its supporters to safeguard his position. "So Karu Jayasuriya, you do not have the popularity you had then. You must decide now on who the popular candidate is? He is Sajith Premadasa and he is the candidate the people are asking for. Do not get caught up in these games of Ranil Wickremesinghe", he continued. Treasurer of Gajasawi Samawadi Front, Vimanga Wickramarachchi highlighted that Sajith Premadasa is the only candidate who can win the election as of now. "The Muslim Congress, the Jathika Hela Urumaya and all the other parties with us are supporting Sajith Premadasa as the presidential candidate, and we can see that all of them are dedicated to make him the president of this country", he continued. He requested the leaders to refrain from delaying the process of choosing a candidate. He further added that the innocent people are waiting to make Sajith Premadasa the President to form a UNP government.
