Democratic United National Front and Sama Samaja Party announce their candidates

Colombo (News 1st) - Several political parties announced their candidates for the upcoming presidential election. The Democratic United National Front, which will contest under the Eagle symbol, announced today (September 12) that Ariyawansha Dissanayaka will be fielded as the party's candidate for the upcoming presidential election. Chairman Election Coordination Committee, Suresh Karunathilaka stated that they have decided to field Ariyawansha Dissanayaka as their presidential candidate contesting under the symbol of the eagle. The newly formed Sama Samaja party founded by Dr Wickremabahu Karunaratne, named Baddagane Nandamitra as their presidential candidate today. Leader of New Sama Samaja Party, Dr Wickremabahu Karunarathne stated that their party is announcing its presidential candidate to pave the way for a much clearer path for our political journey, and not to obtain votes.
