Asgiriya Chapter advises Min. Sajith Premadasa to be patient and fulfill his duties to the nation

COLOMBO (News 1st) - The Asgiriya Chapter of the Siam Sect advised Minister Sajith Premadasa today to serve the country despite all criticism. The western gateway of the Asgiriya Maha Viharaya was offered and vested with the Maha Sanga today (September 12) under the auspices of Deputy Leader of the United National Party Minister Sajith Premadasa. Later the service towards the society and the Sasana offered by the Minister was appreciated by presenting a token of appreciation. Ven. Medagoda Dhammananda Thero, Registrar of the Asgiriya Chapter noted that Minister Premadasa will have to bear all the criticism that would be projected at him both from the party itself and the opposition during his endeavour to serve his nation. Ven. Anamaduwe Dhammadassi Thero, Anunayake of the Asgiriya Chapter of the Siam Sect noted that when the political state of the country is concerned, economy and other aspects are unavoidable. Thero added that it was the Sanghas' responsibility to instruct on these matters, however evidently they are ignored. Thero went on to note that Minister Sajith Premadasa would heed to those instructions, unlike others. The Thero commended the minister for his activeness. Minister Sajith Premadasa shared that they had to join hands with the honourable maha sangha and Mahanayaka Theros in order to protect the Sambuddha Sasana in the country.  He added they all were entitled to devote themselves to the advice of honourable Maha Sangha of the three sects and lead the country towards prosperity. Minister Premadasa also met with the Mahanayake of the Malwatte Chapter of the Siam Sect and obtained his blessings. Minister Sajith Premadasa met several journalists during his visit to Kandy and stated that winning Elpitiya Pradeshiya Sabha elections was not the true challenge and it was to field a candidate from the United National Party. He further added that he was always prepared to fulfil the requests of the general public.
