Several government instituitions affected by Trade Union strike

Colombo(News 1st) - The activities of several government institutions have been affected by the Trade Union action by Sri Lanka Administrative Service officers. The Trade Union action of applying for sick leave, continued for a second day today (September 11) due to several demands including salary anomalies. As a result of this the Department of Motor Traffic, Registration of Persons and the Department of Immigration and Emigration have been severely affected. News 1st contacted the Secretary of the Ministry of Public Administration J. J Ratnasiri who stated that no complaints have been received regarding the disruption of activities at government offices. He also stated that steps will be taken to submit a proposal to the Cabinet Sub-Committee on the salary anomalies raised by the trade unions. Meanwhile, President of the Sri Lanka Administrative Services Association Prabath Chandrakeerthi stated that the government has failed to address the issues raised by him.
