COLOMBO (News 1st) - Leader of the National Unity Front, Azath Salley shared his thoughts on Gotabaya Rajapaksa and his connection to the Avant-Garde court case. Azath Salley questioned who authorized Nissanka Senadipathi to establish Avant-Garde and maintain a floating armoury depriving the Sri Lankan government to earn a revenue? He answered it himself saying that it was Gotabaya Rajapaksa. He went on to note that however, he is not named in the indictment rendering the charge sheet futile. He added that the former government and the current government came to an agreement to defend each other as they both drained the Central Bank. He added that non-cabinet Minister Sujeewa Senasinghe wrote a book on the Central Bank scam. He went on to note that the president acknowledges that both the previous government as well as the current government are filled with corrupted officials which leads to a crisis; how could the government continue with these corrupted individuals? He finally added that "the corruption existed for the past four and a half years, and the government failed to file a single complaint against anyone".
