Prime Minister in the Maldives: 4 agreements signed

COLOMBO (News 1st) - Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe is currently engaged in a three-day official visit to the Maldives on an invitation extended by President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih. The Prime Minister was accorded a warm welcome. Sri Lanka signed four agreements with the Maldives including an agreement on visa arrangements along with Memorandum of Understanding on social protection, vocational training, youth development, and higher education. Wickremesinghe will chair this year's Indian Ocean Conference which will begin tomorrow and end on Wednesday at the Paradise Island Resort, Maldives. The Prime Minister is accompanied by Ministers Rauff Hakeem, Vajira Abeywardena and Daya Gamage as well as State Minister Anoma Gamage.
