Forensic audit report of bond scam to be released

Colombo (News 1st): The Central Bank of Sri Lanka said it would likely release the Forensic Audit Reports on the Central Bank Treasury Bond Scam before the end of October. Governor Indrajit Coomaraswamy said two reputed international institutions are conducting 05 separate audits on the matter. He went on to note following the completion of the Forensic Audit, advice will be obtained from the Attorney General for further investigations. On the 27th of January 2017, President Maithripala Sirisena appointed a Presidential Commission to probe the Bond Scam. One of the key recommendations made by the Commission in its report was for all transactions carried out by Perpetual Treasuries Limited to be scrutinized by a Forensic Audit.
