Two new train services from September

COLOMBO (News 1st) - The Department of Railways stated a new Inter-City train will be deployed to operate between Fort and Polonnaruwa. Railways General Manager, Dilantha Fernando speaking to News 1st said the power-set which will be used for this purpose will engage in test runs during this week. He added the train service will be launched from mid-September. This train will comprise of an air-conditioned compartment, two second-class compartments, and two third-class compartments. In addition, another new Inter-City train will be deployed to operate between Maradana, Colombo, and Beliatta from mid-September.
