REUTERS:- U.S. President Donald Trump said his longtime executive assistant Madeleine Westerhout had a "bad night" when she allegedly shared details about the first family at a dinner with reporters. Westerhout abruptly resigned on Thursday (August 29) after Politico reported she had said, among other things, that the president did not like being in pictures with his daughter Tiffany because he viewed her as overweight. Speaking to the media in Washington, D.C. on Friday (August 30), Trump said Westerhout told him she was drinking and her comments were supposed to be off-the-record. "The whole thing was very unfortunate," said Trump. "I think the press is very dishonest because it was supposed to be off-the-record, but still you don't say things like she said which were just a little bit hurtful to some people," Trump said the alleged comments about Tiffany were false. "I love Tiffany; Tiffany is a great person," said Trump.
