Hatton declaration in supporting Sajith Premadasa during presidential election, unanimously approved

COLOMBO (News 1st):- The Conference of the National People's Council in Hatton was held at the Dickoya Town Hall today (August 31). The Citizens' Conference of the Hatton Zone of the National People's Council was held today with the participation of youth and workers in the plantation sector. This conference was organized by Convener of the National People's Council Chameera Perera. The proposal of supporting Deputy Leader of the United National Party Sajith Premadasa in the upcoming presidential election, named as the 'Hatton Declaration' was also unanimously approved during the event. Speaking at the event, Minister of Sports Harin Fernando questioned the people if they want siblings to be appointed as President and the Prime Minister of the country or if they want a young Premadasa who will make the people of the country leaders be a President. Also speaking at the event, Non-Cabinet Minister, Ajith P. Perera said that the leaders in the country never listen to people even though they claim that they do so and that it has become the unfortunate reality of the country. He further said that they will come on the 5th of next month and show everyone how powerful Sajith Premadasa is while also saying that those who do not have the public mandate are trying to obstruct this gathering in Kurunugela but also continued to say that those who are politically intelligent and with a conscience, who have honest intentions to defeat the Rajapaksa family want to choose the Presidential candidate as soon as possible and then proceed with the election campaign. He went onto say that there are 77 MPs in parliament, with two-third which is 54 MPs who love the party has said that within a period of 7 days that the party's working committee and the parliamentary group should select the candidate for the upcoming Presidential elections and that a document was also signed for the matter. Perera says that it has been more than 10 days since they handed over this document to Prime Minister Ranil Wickramasinghe and that against such a backdrop that Nishanka Nanayakkara, the Chairman of the Peoples Bank says that selecting the candidate at this moment is against the constitution of the party. Calling out on Nishanka, Non-Cabinet Minister Ajith P. Perera says that he should not make a fool of himself by trying to fulfil the needs of others and requested him to refrain from supporting their enemies and speak the truth without misleading the public. He added that they need a leader who will do the right thing at the right time and that it will only be Sajith Premadasa and stated that they will fight for him even until the end.
