COLOMBO (News1st):- The constitution of the proposed Sri Lanka Podujana Alliance will be approved on Tuesday (August 3). Minor political parties have joined Sri Lanka Podujana Permuna in forming this proposed alliance. The new alliance will be established with parties including the Mahajana Eksath Peramuna, National Freedom Front and the Pivithuru Hela Urumaya. UPFA MP Dinesh Gunawardene speaking on the matter said that the joint opposition and the SLPP are concluding their discussions and that they have set the dates for the alliance to be established with several other political parties. The control of the party will be with the executive council. Social media has reported that as the majority of the alliance is from the Sri Lanka Podujana Permuna, Mahinda Rajapaksa will be the leader of the alliance. Leader of the Pivithuru Hela Urumaya, Udaya Gammanpila said a consensus will be reached on the proposed alliance on Tuesday. Meanwhile, UNP MP Mujibur Rahuman states that a crisis will arise within the Pohottuwa party in the upcoming weeks and that it will arise between those who are already in the party and also those who are joining them. He further says that it will not be an alliance but rather will be an agreement with the Rajapaksa's and that the democracy will only apply for their family. He added that Wimal Weerawansa and Udaya Gammanpila will have to end up climbing up the tails of the Rajapaksa's.   https://youtu.be/xNuK0hDJYW0
