Colombo (News 1st): Ajantha Mendis, one of cricket’s most famous mystery spinners, has retired from all forms of cricket. The right-armer, who made his debut in 2008, remains the fastest bowler to claim 50 ODI wickets, taking just 19 games to reach the landmark. His effectiveness waned as players became wise to his methods. Although he played an important part in Sri Lanka’s World T20 title win in 2014, and in their journey to the 2011 Men’s Cricket World Cup final.
