JMI and NTJ suspects to be interrogated for 72-hours

Colombo (News 1st): Steps have been taken to detain and interrogate, the two terror suspects arrested at Ampara for 72 hours. The two active members of the banned National Thawheed Jamaath (NTJ) and Jamathei Millathaei Ibrahim (JMI) organizations were arrested by Police yesterday (August 28). The Sri Lankan Police noted that they will hand over the suspects to the Terrorist Investigations Department following interrogations. Police spokesperson SP Ruwan Gunasekera said the men were arrested based on intel provided by the State Intelligence Service. The suspects named Mohomedu Raisuddiyan Abdul Rahuman alias Abunas and Seinul Aabdeen Husler alias Aburuwa are residents of Polgolla and Mawanella. Investigations have revealed that the suspects have received weapon training in Nuwara-Eliya and Hambantota.
