COLOMBO (News 1st) - UPFA MP Mahinda Amaraweera noted that discussions between the Sri Lanka Freedom Party and Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna are to recommence today(August 27). The discussions are due to be held at the office of the opposition leader.
New members have been selected for the discussions. MP Mahinda Amaraweera mentioned that he too will be a member of the team representing the SLFP. Other SLFP members include General Secretary MP Dayasiri Jayasekara and MP Lasantha Alagiyawanna from the UPFA.
The team from the SL Podujana Peramuna will be led by national organizer Basil Rajapaksa. His will be joined by MP Dullas Alahapperuma and party Chairman Prof. G.L. Peiris.
MP Mahinda Amaraweera said that the discussions regarding the coalition are expected to conclude before the 3rd of September.
