Prof Ananda Samarasekara indicted and released on bail

Colombo (News1st) - The former Chief Judicial Medical Officer of Colombo, Professor Ananda Samarasekara was indicted at the Colombo High Court by Justice Manjula Thilakaratne. He was indicted on the charges of concealing evidence relating to the homicide of rugger player, Wasim Thajudeen. Following the indictment, the Colombo Chief Magistrate ordered Professor Ananda Samarasekara to be released on 2 surety bails worth Rs.1 million each and one cash bail of Rs.25,000. The case is scheduled to be heard again on September 19th.
