Colombo (News 1st) - MP Palitha Range Bandara expressed views regarding a letter signed by 55 MPs to have the Working Committee and the Parliamentary group of the UNP to meet and decide on the Presidential candidate within 7 days. Notably, the MP had not signed the letter despite requests to sign it. Palitha Range Bandara emphasized that his traveling expenses from Puttalam to Colombo would add up to about Rs.10 000 including fuel expenses and food. "Why should I spend Rs 10,000 to sign a paper to call for the Working Committee and the Parliamentary Group to be convened?", he continued noting that the party constitution does not include the need to present a letter to the Party leader with signatures of a certain number of MPs. He further mentioned that the letter is a void attempt despite how many sign it.
