"HR Conclave" attended by 30 leading organizations in Sri Lanka

Colombo (News1st) - An event titled "HR Conclave" was held in Colombo last evening. The event, which is hosted once in six months for 30 invited senior HR managers, held a panel discussion with top heads from leading organizations in Sri Lanka. This years theme focused on how to overcome pitfalls in managing human resources. General Manager of Group Human Resource Management of the Capital Maharaja Organisation Limited, Ravi Gamage also participated in the panel discussion. Gamage highlighted that it is the role of HR managers to make sure the friendliness is balanced and let people understand their need to achieve the targets without stepping on people's toes. "We also have to make sure that there is no misunderstanding, so communication is of absolute paramount importance" he further noted. He emphasized that communication takes the organization where it wants to go and it is the HR department that needs to play a communicators role right now ensuring that the people are guided in the right way so that they don't have pitfalls.
