COLOMBO (News 1st):- The Tripitaka Conservation Board states that strict action will be implemented against parties who distort Buddhism in the country. Member of the Board, Anunayake of the Asgiri sect Venerable Anamaduwe Dhamadassi Thero states that various Buddhist verses in Pali have been translated to Sinhala wrongfully and are being propagated. He said that some of these parties have already been identified. Information has surfaced that many verses of the Tripitaka have also been distorted in a similar manner. The Thero states that the Conservation Board will convene in the near future to discuss the onward actions to be taken against such parties. He adds that the President has also adviced them to take the necessary actions against such people.
