"National duty of SLFP is to accept their candidate": S. B. Dissanayake

COLOMBO (News 1st):- Convening a media briefing in Kandy today (August 18), SLFP MP S.B. Dissanayake commented on the on-going discussions between the SLFP and the SLPP. He said that although he was informed that the discussions between the presidents of the two parties were successful that he does not know what was discussed. S.B. Dissanayake says that they nominated Gotabaya Rajapaksa and that both parties have accepted him as their Presidential candidate. He claims that since the Podujana Peramuna is their leftist movement that it is the national duty of the SLFP to accept this common candidate. He added that except for Welgama that there are some others who are attempting to cross over from the SLFP to the UNP.
