Supporters march in Batticaloa demanding Sajith for President

COLOMBO (News 1st)- The Sajith Generation Organisation held a march in Batticaloa today (August 17) demanding to name Sajith Premadasa as the Presidential candidate. The march commenced from the Batticaloa clock tower demanding the UNP party leaders to name Sajith Premadasa as the 2020 presidential candidate and it ended at the Kalladi bridge. The supporters claimed that as the Tamil community in Batticoloa that they support Sajith Premadasa to become the next President. Meanwhile, a group of former officials from local government bodies convened a media briefing in Beliatta to extend their support to Minister Sajith Premadasa. A former vice President, Piyadasa Weeratunge said that they (Beliatta seat) have arrived at a decision to refrain from voting for the UNP if Sajith Premadasa is not announced as the Presidential candidate. He says that the MPs within the same party who are accusing Sajith like Ravi Karunanayake are those who have a history of corruption.
