Hydropower generation increases to 42%

Colombo (News 1st): The Ministry of Power and Renewable Energy says water capacity of the reservoirs in the hydro catchment areas have increased to 43% due to the recent heavy rains. Media Spokesperson Sulakshana Jayawardene said that accordingly, hydropower generation has increased up to 42% of total electricity generation. However, he noted that hydropower generation is still a challenge.
