Unemployed graduates protest : Galle Face access blocked from Lotus roundabout

COLOMBO (News 1st) - Due to a protest staged by unemployed graduates access to Galle Face road was blocked from the Lotus roundabout. Police stated that they blocked the entrance as the protestors attempted to move towards the presidential secretariat. The protestors stated that they staged the protest due to discrepancies in the recruitment of graduates into the state sector and that they have staged protests on a number of occasions in the recent past without any result.
