Colombo (NEws 1st): President Maitrhipala Sirisena says, he will expedite the process of establishing a Sri Lankan Embassy in Cambodia adding that until such time an embassy is established, consuls would be appointed to coordinate diplomatic activities.
The President made these remarks when attending religious activities at a temple situated in the capital city of Phnom Penh in Cambodia. The President also added that Sri Lanka and Cambodia should work hand in hand in during the program which is initiated to spread Theravada Buddhism to the world.
According to the President’s Media Division, bilateral discussions between Sri Lanka and Cambodia aimed at improving investment opportunities and trade, have been successful and President Sirisena has also invited the Prime Minister of Cambodia to visit Sri Lanka in the future.
