Suraksha insurance: Two officials of Education Ministry summoned before PCOI

COLOMBO (News 1st):- Two secretaries who served the Ministry of Education have been summoned before the committee probing into alleged financial frauds in state institutions within the past four years regarding irregularities in the Suraksha insurance scheme. A spokesperson for the Commission states that the summoned individuals are the Secretary of the Ministry of Petroleum Resources Development, Sunil Hettiarachchi and the Secretary of the Ministry of Justice and Prison Reforms, R. M. P. B. Meegasmulla. Meanwhile, the Secretary of the Uva Provincial Council has been summoned before the committee to investigate into an alleged financial fraud said to have occurred during the construction of a road in the area. A statement will be recorded on the alleged fraud when constructing the Badulla Kandekatiya road using a sum of Rs. 726 million.
