3 Uda Gammana projects worth Rs. 44.4 million vested with the public

Colombo (News 1st): Three Uda Gammana projects carried out under the Semata Sewana Yali Pibidena Uda Gammana Program in Vavuniya were vested with the public under the auspices of Deputy Leader of the United National Party Minister Sajith Premadasa. The 241 st 242nd and the 243rd Uda Gammana consisting of 52 houses were named as Sabaripuram, Abhaththiyarpuram, and Kalelaimahal Nagar. Rs. 44.4 million in total was allocated for this project. 52 beneficiaries were awarded title deeds while 100 low-income families were granted with Visira housing loans. Speaking at the event he noted that if they are to develop as a country, they must focus on export-driven sustainable economic development. He said his aim is to establish export zones in every subdivision in the country and then every factory within these export zones will be for export purposes. Minister Premadasa added that these export companies will create thousands of jobs and as the jobs increase employment, unemployment among the youth will decrease. He pointed out that exports will also generate income and boost our foreign reserves and small scale industry projects will be started in every model village, and they will create exporters in this country. He stressed that this will be the future path of Sri Lanka.
