Pallewela OIC transferred to Kalutara South with immediate effect

Colombo (News 1st): Pallewela Officer-in-Charge has been transferred to Kalutara South with immediate effect due to the investigation into the deaths of 13 people who had consumed illicit liquor at Baduragoda, Mirigama. On the first of this month, a group of people who had consumed illicit liquor were hospitalized after falling sick. Police Media Spokesperson SP Ruwan Gunasekara stated that an investigation has been launched into the incident. Meanwhile, a suspect who was arrested by the Kotadeniyawa police regarding the incident was remanded until the 9th of this month after being produced before the Minuwangoda Acting Magistrate Athula Gunasekara.
