UNP leadership council, one of RW's old tricks? - Maithri Gunaratne

COLOMBO (News 1st): Commenting on the UNP's leadership council, Governor of the Central Province Maithri Gunaratne states that even on a previous occasion which was similar to the present issue that arose within the party, that Ranil had appointed a leadership council headed by Karu Jayasuriya just so that he can deceive the public by stating that he vested all powers with them. The Governor says that the Prime Minister never thought of handing over his power and that even around this time he is playing his old trick by forming a new alliance and appointing a leadership council. He added that if he feels he is unable to achieve this, that he will only appoint an outsider but never consider giving the opportunity to a UNPer.
