Mayor of Hambantota sentenced to 5 years in prison

Colombo (News 1st): Mayor of Hambantota Eraj Raveendran Fernando and another defendant were each sentenced to 05 years in prison for intimidating a group of MPs with a pistol during their visit to inspect the Hambantota Harbour in April 2014. The order was delivered by the Hambantota Provincial High Court. Court also ordered to acquit and release three other defendants from the case.
