BREAKING NEWS : COA issues order against imported garbage

Colombo (News1st) - The Court of Appeal has issued an order preventing the foreign waste found in the Colombo Port and Katunanyake Free Trade Zone from being taken to any internal location in the country. President of the COA Yasantha Kodagoda, and Justice Arjuna Obeysekara also issued an order preventing the containers from been re-exported without the approval of the Court. The COA also granted leave to proceed for the case filed by the Centre for Environmental Justice regarding these waste containers. The COA ordered that notices be issued against the respondents to appear before court on the 20th of September. Hayleys Free Zone Limited, ETL Private Limited, the BOI, the CEA, the Director General of Customs, and the Attorney General have been named as respondents.
