SC issues temporary order preventing case against Gota

COLOMBO (News 1st) - The Supreme Court issued an order preventing the trial against Former Defence Secretary Gotabaya Rajapaksa at the Permanent High Court Trial at Bar over the D.A. Rajapaksa museum until the 1st of October. The order was handed down after examining a petition filed by Gotabaya Rajapaksa. Supreme Court ordered for the petition to be called up again on the 3rd of October. Gotabaya Rajapaksa has filed the petition stating that the permanent High Court Trial at Bar has no jurisdiction to hear the relevant case. On 2 previous occasions, petitions filed by Gotabaya Rajapaksa in this regard were dismissed without being examined by the Court of Appeal.
