Buddha statue desecration : Magistrate remands 11 suspects till August 08

Colombo (News !st) The 11 suspects arrested for damaging Buddha statues in several areas including Mawanella were remanded until August 8th. The verdict was delivered by Magistrate Upul Rajakaruna when the suspects were produced before the Magistrate Court of Mawanella today. (July 25) The accused were residents of Batticaloa and Hambantota. A vehicle relating to the incident has been produced to the court by the Criminal Investigation Department.
