COLOMBO (News 1st): Sri Lanka is due to experience a partial lunar eclipse on the 16th of this month. This lunar eclipse will also be experienced by countries in the Australian, African, North American, European and Asian continents. Professor Chandana Jayaratne, Director of the Astronomy and Space Science Unit of the Colombo University states that this is the last lunar eclipse that could be viewed this year, while the next eclipse could only be viewed on May 26th, 2021. The partial lunar eclipse is due to begin at midnight on the 16th (i.e. 12.13 am on the 17th July).
