Petition against Hemasiri and Pujith to be taken up on July 25th

Colombo (News 1st): The petitions filed against former Defence Secretary Hemasiri Fernando and IGP Pujith Jayasundara seeking legal action be instituted against them under the penal code for their failure to prevent the April 21st attack will be considered on July 25th by the seven-judge Supreme Court bench headed by the Chief Justice Jayantha Jayasuriya. The bench ordered all parties to file their objections on July 18th and counter-objections on July 23rd. Attorney General Dappula De Livera said the Attorney General's Department will not make any representations for IGP Pujith Jayasundara and Hemasiri Fernando who have been named as the 01st and 02nd respondents in the petitions.
