Colombo (News 1st): Twenty-four fishermen who set sail from Galle and Ambalangoda have been arrested by the Maldives Coast Guard for breaching maritime borders.

Accordingly, the fishermen who were apprehended were travelling in the vessels Rukshani 2, Dhanushka 7, Heshan Putha 4 and Tenaki Baba – 4.

The Fisheries Department noted that they are taking steps for the release of the men who set sail on the 23 and the 30th of June.
