Stupa belonging to before common era found in Tissamaharama

COLOMBO (News 1st) - Excavations in the Kachcheri Godalla, Tissamharama have led to the discovery of ancient ruins of a Dagaba which is believed to be before the common era. Operations Director of the Central Cultural Fund, Professor Sumanasiri Wauwage noted that excavations commenced on a dilapidated stupa a few weeks back. He added that further excavations into the initial stupa had lead to the discovery of another stupa.
