COLOMBO (News 1st) – A trapped fishing cat in the Galgamuwa region was rescued by the wildlife officers today(July 04). The fishing cat was caught in a snare set behind a residence in Devagiripura.

The locals of the area notified the wildlife officers upon the discovery of the ensnared fishing cat last night(July 04).

The fishing cat was treated for its wounds and is to be released to the wild reserve.
