The first ever museum of ancient technology opened

Colombo (News 1st): President Maithripala Sirisena declared open the country’s first-ever museum on ancient technology and a library in Polonnaruwa today (July 3). The museum is one of the mega development projects launched recently and provides the ideal platform to study technology used by ancient Sri Lankans. The objective of establishing this museum is to collect and preserve old technology and equipment for the benefit of future generations. The museum has all modern facilities. Housed in a three-story building the museum provides valuable information on the technology used in the Polonnaruwa era with attractive displays.
