Royal College take inter-schools rugby league championship

COLOMBO (News 1st):- Royal College Colombo clinched the prestigious Inter Schools Rugby League for the third consecutive year by beating St Joseph's College 24-17. The encounter was played at the Royal Sports Complex. At half time Royal led 14 points to 10. Royal secured another 10 points in the second half while the Josephians only managed 7 points. The match ended with 24 points to 17 in favour of Royal. The title was clinched by Royal as a result of the bonus points claimed due to the 4 tries scored during the course of the match. Incidentally, Royal College became the first team in the 21st century to secure the league title, for 3 consecutive years.
