Family Health Officers strike over allowances and weekend wages

COLOMBO (News 1st) - All Family Health Service Officers in the North Western Province resorted to a trade union action today(June 26) by taking sick leave. Chairman of the Family Health Service Officers' Association, Devika Kodituwakku noted that the measure was taken citing certain issues including allowances and weekend wages. Health Services Director of the North Western Province, Dr N.Fareed informed the News 1st that their demands were resolved following the approval by the Provincial Governor. He finally added that the Family Health Service Officers have officially informed of trade union action in writing
