"STOP USA", a new organization established against the intervention of the USA convened in Colombo yesterday(June 25). 6. United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights Michelle Bachelet spoke about the situation of Sri Lanka and noted terrorist attacks launched in Sri Lanka two months ago may have fuelled the increase in tensions. 7. UNP Chief Organizer for Katana Attorney-at-law Rose Fernando noted that they will not be able to ask for votes in Katana at the next elections because they will lose if they do so. 8. Attorney General has made a special request to the Chief Justice for the appointment of a tripartite bench to take up the case against the infamous elephant trafficker Ali Roshan alias       Niraj Roshan and eight other defendants. 9. Dr Seigu Siyabdeen Mohamed Shaafi who is under the custody of CID has filed an FR petition at the Supreme Court.

10. The Ministry of Education’s proposal to provide Tabs to school children was approved by the cabinet.
