President and Prime Minister are responsible for the security of the country : Sarath Fonseka

COLOMBO (News 1st) - Field Marshal Sarath Fonseka expressed views regarding the Parliamentary Select Committee investigating into the 04/21 attacks. The UNP Parliamentarian who is also a member of the PSC was speaking at an event in Kelaniya. Fonseka noted that they will not only summon the prime minister but the president as well before the Parliamentary Select Committee. He added that the committee does not intend to save or clear anyone from their guilt of the 04/21 attacks. Whoever it is will be held accountable for their crimes against the citizens of the country. He went on to note that even if those who are summoned make various statements regarding others lapses which led to the attacks, people would not believe them. He stressed that both prime minister and the president were equally responsible for the security of the country. He concluded that "the committee maintained total transparency throughout their sessions and truth will be uncovered gradually"
