Full-time counselling teachers for schools

COLOMBO (News 1st) - The Ministry of Education has decided to attach a full-time counselling teacher to every school. Additional secretary of the ministry, M Ratnayake noted that no school has a full-time counselling teacher employed. He added that students who need counselling are left out due to the lack of counselling teachers and for the first phase, the ministry intends to recruit 1500 trained counselling teachers for schools. He went on to note that the interview process is currently underway to select counselling teachers.
