COLOMBO (News 1st) – The 4th Fast Attack Squadron of the Sri Lanka Navy was commissioned as the 4th Fast Attack Flotilla in Trincomalee.
The grand commissioning ceremony was held under the patronage of President Maithripala Sirisena at the Naval Dockyard, Trincomalee. To coincide with the commissioning, the Flotilla was also awarded the coveted President’s Colours on this occasion.
As the Sri Lanka Navy’s premier offensive power, the 4th Fast Attack Flotilla has been dominating the littorals by means of its fast, agile and power-packed Fast Attack Craft (FACs) with a deployable, sustainable, dedicated and well-motivated squadron.
With such dedication to the duty, the commitment of highest order to the nation, the Flotilla deserved to be awarded the President’s Colours as it celebrates 10 years defeating separatist terrorism through blood, sweat and tears denoting the commitment, dedication and humane of the personnel of the 4th Fast Attack Flotilla.
This event was also attended by Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Piyal De Silva and Navy Chief of Staff, Rear Admiral Nishantha Ulugetenne.
