Several police officers transferred with immediate effect

COLOMBO (News 1st): The Police Headquarters has taken steps to transfer several police officers with immediate effect. Police media spokesperson SP Ruwan Gunasekara said that the Senior DIG of the Western Province Nandana Munasinghe has been transferred as the Senior DIG of the North Western and North Central provinces. Senior DIG of the North Western and North Central provinces Jagath Abeysiri Gunawardene has been transferred as the Senior DIG of the Western province and the Motor Traffic division. In addition, the DIG of the Western Province North Deshabandu Tennakoon and four other DIGs, two Senior Assistant Superintendents, eight Superintendents and five Senior Assistant Superintendents has been transferred with immediate effect under the approval of the National Police Commission. Seven IPs who served as OICs and two Chief Police IPs have been transferred on service requirements with immediate effect.
