REUTERS: Roger Federer is just two matches away from winning a tenth title at the Halle Open after downing Roberto Batista Agut in three sets Friday (June 21).
Federer advanced after surviving a mid-match scare to defeat Bautista Agut 6-3 4-6 6-4 and reach the last four for the 15th time. The eight-time Wimbledon champion dropped a set against the Spaniard but still had enough quality to progress.
Up next for Federer is Frenchman Pierre-Hugues Herbert who advanced after defending champion Borna Coric was forced to retire from their quarter-final due to a suspected back injury. He was a set down (7-5) at the time.
