COLOMBO (News 1st): A free rehabilitation program for those who are addicted to drugs, was organized by the District Community Police Unit, the DIG’s Office of Peliyagoda, and the Gammadda V-Force at the Senanayake College in Ja-Ela today (June 22).
The awareness program also provided a range of services including psychotherapy and special medical services, and counselling as well as the processes that must be followed to help them overcome their addiction. The next phase of this program will take place tomorrow at the Vidyaloka Maha Vidyalaya in Kerawalapitiya, Wattala.
Meanwhile, the Gammadda Pradeshiya Sabha Mandapaya, a program where the general public and responsible authorities meet, was held in Kamburupitiya, Matara today (June 22). The Gammadda Pradeshiya Sabha Mandapaya was held next to the Lenawatuwa Wewa in Matara, Kamburupitiya. The program was presided by Minister of Finance Mangala Samaraweera.
Officials from the Disaster Management Center, Department of Agriculture, Department of Irrigation and several others attended the “Gammadda Pradeshiya Mandapaya” A large number of people from Matara voiced their issues before the officials during the program.
